Main Research Interests

Professor Jukka Rantanen and the Pharmaceutical Technology (PT) group are working at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of Copenhagen, Denmark). The PT group has expertise and pilot scale processing equipment focusing on solid dosage forms. This group has a long history and recognized expertise on the utilization of process analytical technology (PAT) within particulate solids. The group is focusing on understanding the chemical and physical properties of the active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients in relation to their processing behavior, and further, in relation to bioavailabity of the final dosage form.

Professor Jukka Rantanen is an author or co-author of 65 articles in the field of pharmaceutics, analytical chemistry and chemical engineering. Professor Rantanen has supervised 10 PhD and masters students. He is a member of editorial board of Pharmaceutical Development and Technology.
